“Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife.”

It was in the gospel reading at mass after Joe had prayed about his relationship with Marion. His prayer? For God to affirm his potential vocation of marriage with Marion one way or the other.

The answer was immediate, not always the case in discernment of these things, and so beautifully clear. God knew that’s how Joe needed to be spoken to, and it didn’t take long for Joe to follow through & commit his life to this woman.

Joe is vibrant in the way he lives; full of passion, willing to pursue good things (cough-Marion-cough), determined to live with great expectations of God. Marion lives with open arms, creating a safe place for them to be fully known by each other.

A place where her husband can rest before going out into the world to proclaim the Kingdom, knowing he is loved & appreciated simply for being himself.

A place where his wife is adored, affirmed in her grace & understanding heart, bringing life to their home in more ways than just welcoming a baby into the world.

A place where their callings are taken seriously while not taking themselves too seriously.

And Leah? She has brought them such deep joy – it’s all over their faces, even when she’s not in their arms.

These two have embraced commitment, loyalty, & adventure wholeheartedly. The world is better because of their marriage – and their baby can melt icy hearts with just one of her chubby wrists I mean LOOK AT HER! Insert all the heart eye emojis for this family, okay?
