Welcome to the blog!

Kind, generous, and passionate are just three of many words to describe Irene and Gerrit. They bring out the best in each other and make each other better along the way. Their focus and determination will get them far, but their commitment to God first will get them furthest – and they know the sacrifice required to do just that. Their marriage has been set up for success – refinement is a regular part of their lives – and they’re not afraid of the work required to love and choose Love every day from here on out.

Their big wedding turned into an intimate gathering in Irene’s parents’ backyard, complete with a home cooked meal. The effort put in to make this day special was felt in every detail, from the videos Irene had from people who couldn’t make it sent to Gerrit that morning, the trip to Irene’s grandparents’ retirement home so they could still see her, the balloons and cake and custom champagne flutes (and and and !) set up and made by Irene’s parents… it was all so thoughtful and intentional.

I especially loved that everyone allowed the day to unfold as it did, connecting with each other and contributing to a peaceful, joyful, and memorable first day of Irene & Gerrit’s marriage. The way it all felt was exactly what you’d want for your wedding. These two are something special and their relationship – their lives! – are truly a cause for celebration.

Irene & Gerrit, I’m so glad I got to journey with you over this last year. It’s been a gift to get to know you better! I felt (feel!) the weight and wonder of the gift and sacrifice leading up to and on your wedding day and I’m happy I got to be one of the few with you.

Happy honeymooning in Tofino, my friends!!
